Slowly, So Slowly

Patti has been working on the front yard.  She is meticulous where I would be utilitarian.  When she has completed a section it is pretty, perfectly spaced, and things look groomed.  There is a downside to it though:  She has planted 12 out of the approximately 40 tomato plants that will go up there while busting her butt for a week.  Number I have planted?  0.  Hard to complain when that has been my total.

I did, very slowly, plant some beans yesterday. Pole beans specifically at the bases of trellises and fences in the back yard.  One 12′ section of Christmas Lima, and a 6′ section each of Golden of Bacau and Hidatsa Shield beans.  Total time?  An hour.  Still stupid slow, and I was dripping sweat by the time I was done.  Most of the work was done on my knees, as that is the only way I can get my hands near the ground.  It is not comfortable, but other than some soreness in my legs today, and sleeping for 13 hours last night, I seem none the worse for wear.

I need people not hobbled by infirmity or OCD to be doing this.  <sigh>
