Ness Garden Prep May 2010

Our first Spring (last year in May, 2010) at the Ness Farm. Prepping the plot for the gardens and planting potatoes. That was hard work! The field had never been planted before and was very rocky. It was a futile and endless job hand picking rocks out of the dirt. Tom’s primary potato trenches went through the densest rocky area and we used garden spades to dig the trenches. I made a bunch of raised beds, cutting through the weeds and sod with a dutch hoe and garden spade.
