Still Planting

Right now things are soaked again.  But Tuesday night I got back out to the Adickes farm with Claire and in just under 4 hours we got in 180 feet of Tiger Eye beans, 140 feet of Contender green beans, 75 mixed tomato plants, 11 Beaver Dam peppers, and 10 Gold Seal tobacco plants, before we lost the light.

It was good to see the popcorn was up.  Just poking through, but a lot of it.

Glad we got in what we did.  Still a lot more to go, and running out of time for reasonable expectation of maturity on the stuff, but will keep going until time gets too short.  Still waiting for delivery on Sweet Potato slips.  A month to go before I plant winter radishes.  Somehow, I am hoping to get in another 125 hills of squashes.

But I cannot work clay when it is wet, and the weather is being a bugger in that respect.  If I am lucky, the rain yesterday and last night will be all we see until Sunday.  If that hope holds, then Patti and I can get out to the Ness farm on Friday evening, mowing and weeding, and I can work through Saturday at the Adickes farm, and maybe, then, I will not feel as though I did not get as much done as I could.  We will see.
