Sheila called us and invited us over for dinner and a preseason tour of the orchard. Early Blush and Zestar apples were nearly ripe, and pretty good eating, but needed another week to be perfect. It was still a fun tour, and we got to test out a lot of apples.
Her horses were wandering the orchard and came over to say hi. Frankly, I am amazed that they took apples from the kids, because they must have been stuffed with windfalls aready.
The trees are really loaded this year. <grin> That time of year is coming again.
