That is me, picking beans off of green plants, in October. Guess I have no cause to complain. There have been some setbacks and failures this year, but dry beans was not one of them.
I assume the flowers that are just setting now, will freeze off before maturing beans, but nice to keep harvesting.
I managed to be in a photo, because Claire came along with me to hit up the two outlaying gardens. The beans at the Ness farm, and the Baby Vi squash at the Montrose garden were two of the great successes.
From 7 hills at Montrose, we harvested a bit more than two big bushels of squash. They loved the soil there. Next year, if I plant there again, I will not do any potatoes, and just fill it up with squashes.
Sorry it has been a while since I posted. Life has been busy. Not all good, but not all bad either. Garden time is winding down, and dreams of hunting are starting to fill my sleep.
