It is still the season for us to play.
We are ice fishing in the spare moments and augmenting all the venison and beef we have with fresh fish.
And playing.
The winter is not too harsh so far. Not a ton of snow, but there is 20 inches of ice on the lakes now so we drive out to most of our fishing spots.
The warmer weather has the kids playing when we are out there which is fun.
Nell is loving the time practicing driving. She is so tall she does not even have to adjust the seat to comfortably reach the pedals on the floor. I will be surprised if she does not end up 6 feet tall like her mom.
What can I say? It is fun to be back ice fishing again. I could not handle hauling gear and drilling holes while I was in the earlier stages of healing the last 2 years. Now, there is some physical discomfort afterwards, but we are having fun.
Ran into our friend the bee keeper Roger Olson fishing out there. Was good to see him outside of the bee context of our relaionship.
Caught some big fish too.
So, for context in the photo, that is a 27 inch and a 34 inch northern pike. What can I say? Good eats.
