My brother Matt called me up last night to see if I would go musky fishing with him in the rain early this morning. Was not going to be gardening in the rain, so seemed like a good way to spend a Saturday morning. I am not tricked out with the giant musky gear like he is, but I was the only person to boat fish, the only person to lose a musky (cut through 100# braided line) which got me scolded for not using a leader, and in the end, I had fish for lunch when I got back home.
Decent bass. Cute kid. <grin>
Took a tooth through the finger to get this shot. <wry grin> There was more of my blood on the stone when I filleted them than theirs.
So both of these, filleted, layering a 14 in pan in which I had sauteed sliced garlic, and over the fish, finely minced lemon verbena leaves, and a ton of full chard leaves. Poached it all in dry vermouth with some salt, and was just enough for all 6 of us.
I have bread going and it is raining again now. Did some gardening this last week and took pics of things like flowers and such. Maybe will get around to posting that later today.
