Best Laid Plans

So, there is a plan.

Saturday we are all getting up like it is a school day.  As a family we are going to go to the MoA as my daughter Claire has an invite to Sea Life (formerly Underwaterworld) for a birthday party, and while she is there Patti and I will take Nell and Phoebe to Nicolodeon Universe to use up a bunch of ride credits left over from a Christmas present from grandma.  The afternoon will be Corbin and myself cutting down the black walnut tree in the backyard so we can expand the garden.  It is a nice tree, but the roots are starting to kill things in my gardens, and the shade has reduced a good portion to where nothing grows but shade tolerant weeds.  If it doesn’t take too long I will work on more garden beds, maybe even head over to the Minnetonka garden or David’s gardens.  The evening will probably be dinner at David’s and assessing just what needs to be done there to get it ready for the chickens there.

Sunday will be at the Ness farm.  Lance called me to say that he had not only tilled up the area designated for the garden, but had “expanded” it from the original plan.  We will see just how much more than means.  If I can grow more, I will.  Hard to have too much food when I know so many people that don’t have enough.

We will see.  Best laid plans often end up being something else.  Tonight here we had dinner but didn’t do any gardening.  High winds, 35 degrees and light rain.  Going to cuddle up with the kids and watch a movie.
