Time To Relax?

This is the time of year where the gardening, hunting, and gathering is over.  There is still some piecemeal processing to be done, like sausage making with the venison, packing up and organizing of seed for next year, grinding corn into meal and flour, and things like that.  But overall, there are not any pressing issues day to day other than preparing for the holidays (multiple) and just the daily parts of living.

Due to the lack of specific activities which are normally posted on our blog, I thought I would post just some photos of what has been going on, which for the most part (but not entirely) have nothing to do with what we usually write about.

Claire had her holiday concert, which is no longer a real holiday themed concert, but has morphed into a veterans honoring concert.  Was really nice, and Patti’s family came to see it too, though the weather was not amenable to my parents making the trip up as it was right after this concert ended that the storm which pounded the mid-west hit.

We tried to pose this photo but it didn’t work well.  Baby Violet was a bit too wiggly to get a good shot that way.

Regardless, she is damn cute.

Piper and Bunny do not mind the cold or snow.  Having fur coats seems to give them a bit of freedom in that regard.

I am not sure genetically how evolved bunny is to deal with snow, but sub zero temps and 8 inches of snow has not stopped her from going outside.

Though she really tends to be wherever Piper is, and vice versa.  Piper is aggressively protective of her deer parts, but not when it comes to the bunny.  I guess she knows that the bunny has no interest in them, and it is just their love for each other that matters in that case.

Really, no matter where they are, they are there together.  It is heartwarming to see.

Baby Violet is also quite the artist.  She likes drawing on everything, but has a special penchant for drawing on herself.

At least this marker is washable.   The day before it was a black Sharpie marker and though there has been multiple scrubbings, that one has not entirely disappeared.  Oh well.  Baby Vi and our house are quite definitely decorated …… for something.

Ah…at least most of mine have outgrown the marker stage. And none of them have moved on to more ‘permanent’ things, either.
