Warming Up

The long term forecast has been changed again.  For the next ten days, only three are forecast to have daytime highs below freezing.   No rain or snow to be seen, but this should do a good job of getting rid of what snow we have, and get us a ways towards seeing the ice on the lakes leave us.

If I am up to it (and I don’t know if I will be) I should get out the tree tapping equipment and start harvesting maple sap from the tree out front.  It is ideal when daytime temps are getting above freezing, and then dropping again in the evening back below freezing.  There is some hesitancy in my mind to doing any of this, but it is just one tree, and I don’t have to wait until buckets are full before we haul things inside to cook down.  I think I know where the things I need to get it done are.  <grin> We will see if I am up to it later.
