The Garlic Is In!

It was getting a bit late in the year, but thankfully the ground is not frozen, it rained last night, and it is raining a bit today.  That will set the bulbs nicely into the ground.  Garlic bulbs should be planted in the fall, like tulips, as they will start to grow long before the ground is completely thawed.

Not that I had  a lot to do regarding it.  My good friend Michelle made the nearly two hour drive here with her cultivating tiller, ground up a 10′ x 8′ bed with bone and blood meal added, some potash, and then planted about 60 Hearty German garlic, 35 Music, and 35 Spanish Rojo bulbs.  Last year, between various gardens I planted about 3X as many, but much of that was for other people.  This fall I am just glad I have a bit more than I will use myself in the ground, and eternally grateful to Michelle for making the trip here to do it for me.

Thinking her new nickname is Wilson.  <grin>
